The OPTEX Xwave2 Wireless Outdoor Dual Active Infrared Beam provides accurate point-to-point perimeter protection across distances of up to 30 metres. Designed for compatible Xwave2 security systems, it is an ideal solution for protecting driveways, pathways, entrances, boundaries and other outdoor areas where reliable beam-based detection is required.

Dual Active Infrared Beam Technology

The SL-100TNR uses two active infrared beams that must be interrupted simultaneously to generate detection. This dual-beam configuration helps improve detection reliability and provides a defined invisible security barrier between the transmitter and receiver.

30 Metre Detection Range

With a detection range of up to 30 metres, the beam creates a precise line of protection across outdoor areas. Unlike conventional PIR detectors that monitor a broader detection zone, an active infrared beam is particularly useful for securing specific crossing points such as driveways, gates, pathways and property boundaries.

Wireless Xwave2 Integration

The Xwave2 version is designed for wireless integration with compatible security systems. This helps reduce the need for long cable runs between the beam installation and the security system, making it particularly useful where conventional cabling is difficult or impractical.

Adjustable Beam Interruption Time

The interruption period can be selected between 50, 100, 250 and 500 milliseconds. This allows the installer to configure the beam response according to the application and environmental conditions.

Environmental Disqualification Technology

The integrated D.Q. circuit, or environmental disqualification function, helps improve stability by considering environmental influences that could affect infrared beam performance. This supports dependable outdoor perimeter protection in changing conditions.

High-Grade Optical Performance

The beam uses high-grade aspherical lenses designed to produce a well-defined infrared beam. Optical adjustment facilities help installers accurately align the transmitter and receiver for reliable point-to-point detection.

Enhanced Beam Blocking Stability

OPTEX specifies 99% beam-blocking stability for the SL-TNR series. This helps maintain reliable detection when the beam is intentionally or accidentally interrupted.

Battery-Powered Installation

The Xwave2 beam is designed for long-life battery operation using four SAFT LSH20 lithium batteries. The batteries are not included with this product and must be purchased separately. OPTEX specifically recommends LSH20 3.6 V lithium batteries for its battery-operated active infrared beams.

Suitable for Outdoor Security

The SL-100TNR is designed for outdoor perimeter applications and can provide an effective security barrier around residential, commercial and industrial properties. It is particularly useful where point-to-point detection is preferred over conventional motion detection.
