Advanced Dual-Technology Outdoor Detection

The OPTEX Xwave2 VXS SHIELD Wireless Outdoor Low Mount with Microwave and AM is an advanced outdoor security detector combining PIR and microwave detection for compatible Xwave2 security systems. It provides a 12 m detection range with a 90° wide detection pattern and is designed specifically for low-mount outdoor applications.

PIR and Microwave Detection

By combining passive infrared and microwave detection, the VXS SHIELD provides dual-technology motion detection designed to improve stability in challenging outdoor environments. The detector analyses both detection technologies to help distinguish genuine movement from environmental conditions that could otherwise contribute to unwanted alarms.

Active Anti-Masking Protection

The integrated active infrared anti-masking function helps protect the detector against attempts to cover, block or obstruct the lens. When masking is detected, the sensor can provide a trouble indication to the connected security system, helping maintain the integrity of the outdoor detection point.

Flexible Low-Mount Installation

The wireless VXS SHIELD is designed for low mounting between approximately 0.8 m and 1.2 m. Its detection range can be adjusted to suit the protected area, with the PIR coverage extending up to 12 m. This makes it suitable for outdoor areas such as entrances, pathways, gardens and approaches to buildings.

SMDA Environmental Analysis

OPTEX SMDA (Super Multi-Dimensional Analysis) technology analyses environmental information to help reduce unwanted alarms caused by factors such as changing temperatures, moving vegetation and other outdoor environmental conditions. Double conductive shielding also helps reduce interference from bright light and radio-frequency interference.
