Matter-Ready Smart Home Control

The SONOFF BASIC Gen5 is a 10A single-channel Matter Over WiFi Smart Switch designed to bring smart control to compatible lights, appliances and electrical devices. With Matter support, it can integrate into compatible smart-home ecosystems from different manufacturers, making it easier to build a flexible connected home.

Matter Over WiFi

BASIC Gen5 supports the Matter protocol over 2.4GHz WiFi, allowing it to work with compatible Matter-enabled platforms including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Home Assistant. This provides greater flexibility when combining devices from different smart-home brands.

Magic Switch Mode

Magic Switch Mode allows the BASIC Gen5 to remain controllable through the app even when a compatible traditional wall switch is turned off. This makes it particularly useful for smart lighting installations where you want the physical switch and smart control to work together.

Measuring approximately 80.5 × 41.5 × 23.6mm and weighing around 44.8g, BASIC Gen5 has a compact enclosure suitable for appropriate indoor installations. The housing is made from PC material.
