Early Water Leak Detection

The SONOFF SNZB-05P is a Zigbee 3.0 water leak sensor designed to detect leaks, drips and unwanted water accumulation before they can cause extensive damage. Its elevated probe can detect liquid levels as low as 0.5mm, making it suitable for monitoring areas where even a small amount of water needs immediate attention.

Sensitive Leak & Drip Detection

The elevated probe design provides reliable water detection, while the concave water collection area helps capture and detect dripping water quickly. The sensor can also operate on metal surfaces without false triggers caused by the metal itself.

Extend Detection with Water Leak Cables

For larger areas or difficult-to-monitor spaces, the SNZB-05P supports optional water leak detection cables. Multiple cables can be connected in series, allowing the detection area to be extended without a stated total cable-length limitation. This is useful for monitoring areas around washing machines, water heaters, basements, pipes and other potential leak sources.

Instant Leak Alerts

When water is detected, the SNZB-05P can send notifications through the connected smart-home system. Zigbee scene automation can also be configured to trigger a compatible gateway alarm or other connected devices when a leak occurs.

Local Zigbee Alarm Automation

Because the sensor communicates through Zigbee, compatible local scenes can continue to trigger alarms even when the WiFi connection is unavailable. This provides an additional layer of protection for critical leak-detection applications.

Zigbee 3.0 Connectivity

The SNZB-05P uses Zigbee 3.0 and requires a compatible Zigbee gateway or coordinator. Compatible SONOFF gateways include the ZB Bridge series, NSPanel Pro and iHost, while compatible third-party Zigbee hubs can also be supported depending on the platform.

Home Assistant Compatible

The SNZB-05P can integrate with Home Assistant through ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT when used with suitable Zigbee hardware such as a SONOFF ZBDongle-P or ZBDongle-E. This allows the sensor to become part of customised smart-home and water-protection automations.

IP67 Protection

The sensor has an IP67-rated design, making it suitable for damp and leak-prone locations. It can be positioned on the floor near appliances, plumbing or other areas where water leaks may occur.

Long Battery Life

The SNZB-05P is powered by a CR2477 battery and is designed for low-power operation. SONOFF specifies up to 5 years of battery life under its stated testing conditions, helping reduce the need for frequent battery replacement.

Compact Installation

Measuring approximately 48 × 48 × 21.6mm, the compact sensor can be placed in discreet locations where leaks are likely to occur. It is suitable for areas such as under sinks, near water heaters, washing machines, bathrooms, basements, kitchens, attics and other vulnerable areas.
