The IDS DoorSense XWave2 Wireless Door Contact – White is a compact wireless contact designed to monitor the opening and closing of doors and windows as part of an IDS Xwave² or ONYYX security system. Its slimline design makes it suitable for discreet installation while providing reliable two-way wireless communication.

Bi-Directional Xwave² Wireless Technology

DoorSense uses Xwave² bi-directional wireless transmission, allowing the device to communicate with the compatible system and provide supervised wireless operation. It is designed to connect through an Xwave² Hub to compatible IDS X-Series alarm panels or directly to the ONYYX wireless system.

Open and Close Signal Reporting

The DoorSense sends separate signals when the protected door or window is opened or closed, allowing the security system to monitor the status of the contact. This makes it suitable for perimeter protection and access-point monitoring.

Extended Wireless Range

With a specified range of up to 500 metres line of sight, DoorSense provides flexibility when positioning wireless contacts around a property. Actual range can vary depending on building construction, obstacles and installation conditions.

Long Battery Life

The DoorSense is powered by 2 × AAA 1.5 V batteries and is specified with a battery life of up to 2 years, helping reduce the frequency of battery replacement. Actual battery life depends on usage and operating conditions.

Built-In Reed Switch

The DoorSense incorporates a built-in reed switch with a magnet for detecting the open and closed position of the protected door or window. IDS documentation describes the DoorSense as a fully supervised wireless door contact with a compact design.

External Connection for Third-Party Devices

An external connector is provided for connecting compatible third-party devices, allowing DoorSense to be used as a wireless transmitter for suitable external contacts or devices.

Designed for IDS Xwave² and ONYYX Systems

The IDS DoorSense Xwave2 is designed for use with compatible Xwave² and ONYYX security systems. Note that Xwave² devices are not compatible with the older Xwave wireless platform.
