Advanced High-Mount Outdoor Detection

The OPTEX Xwave2 HX 40 RAM Wireless Outdoor PIR with AM is a battery-powered outdoor motion detector designed for high-mount security applications. It provides volumetric outdoor intrusion detection with coverage of up to 12 metres, making it suitable for protecting building approaches, entrances, driveways and other outdoor areas.

Wide 85° Detection Coverage

The HX-40RAM provides an outdoor detection area of up to 12 metres with an 85° wide detection pattern and 94 detection zones. Its volumetric detection design provides broad coverage while allowing the protected area to be adjusted according to the installation requirements.

High-Mount Installation

Designed for installation at approximately 2.5 to 3 metres high, the HX-40RAM is ideal for protecting outdoor approaches from an elevated position. Its adjustable mounting bracket can rotate horizontally through 180° and tilt vertically to accommodate different installation conditions and ground slopes.

Active Infrared Anti-Masking

The integrated active infrared anti-masking function helps detect attempts to obstruct, cover or interfere with the detector. This provides an additional layer of protection for outdoor security installations where maintaining detector availability is important.

Wireless Xwave2 Integration

The HX-40RAM is designed for compatible Xwave2 wireless security systems. Its battery-powered configuration helps simplify installation by reducing the need for traditional detector cabling, making it suitable for locations where wired installation may be difficult or impractical.

Adjustable Detection Area

The detection range can be adjusted to suit different site configurations. The detection area can be shortened to approximately 9 m, 5.5 m or 4 m, while masking seals can be used to modify the detection pattern and help focus coverage on the required security area.

Animal Tolerance & Intelligent Detection

The HX-40 series uses a dedicated pyro-element and intelligent AND detection logic to help distinguish human movement from small animals. Vegetation sway analysis and dual signal processing further support reliable detection in changing outdoor environments.

Outdoor Environmental Protection

The HX-40RAM features an IP55-rated housing and UV-resistant ASA construction for outdoor applications. Advanced temperature compensation and vegetation sway analysis help the detector maintain reliable performance in challenging outdoor environments.
