Reliable Outdoor Motion Detection
The OPTEX Xwave2 VXI RAM Wireless Outdoor PIR with AM is designed to provide reliable outdoor motion detection for compatible Xwave2 security systems. With a 90° detection area and coverage of up to 12 metres, it is well suited to monitoring approaches, driveways, entrances and outdoor perimeter areas.
90° Wide-Angle Detection
The VXI RAM provides a wide 90° detection pattern with 16 detection zones and adjustable detection distance. The detection length can be configured across multiple levels, allowing the sensor to be adapted to different outdoor environments and site requirements.
Wireless Xwave2 Integration
Designed for Xwave2 wireless installations, the VXI RAM provides a convenient solution for extending outdoor security coverage without requiring traditional wired connections to the detector. It is suitable for compatible residential and commercial security applications.
Active Anti-Masking Protection
The integrated active infrared anti-masking function helps detect attempts to obstruct or cover the detector. This provides an additional layer of protection where maintaining reliable outdoor detection is important.
Flexible Detection Adjustment
The VXI RAM offers five levels of detection length adjustment and seven horizontal area adjustments. This allows installers to tailor the detection pattern to the area being protected and reduce unnecessary detection outside the intended security zone.
Stable Outdoor Performance
OPTEX uses digital signal analysis and SMDA (Super Multidimensional Analysis) logic to help distinguish genuine detection from environmental influences. Double conductive shielding and advanced temperature compensation further support stable outdoor operation.
Low-Mount Outdoor Installation
The VXI RAM is designed for low-mount outdoor installation, with a recommended mounting height of approximately 0.8 to 1.2 metres. Its outdoor construction and IP55 protection make it suitable for exposed security applications.
