The OPTEX Xwave2 VXS SHIELD Wireless Outdoor PIR with AM is a wireless outdoor motion detector designed for compatible Xwave2 security systems. It provides a 12 × 12 m detection area and is designed for low-mount outdoor applications, making it suitable for protecting entrances, pathways, gardens, building approaches and other outdoor areas.
Wide-Angle Outdoor Protection
The VXS SHIELD provides a wide 12 m detection area with flexible range adjustment, allowing the detection coverage to be adapted to the requirements of the protected area. Its outdoor PIR technology is designed to help detect movement while providing greater stability in changing outdoor environments.
Active Anti-Masking Protection
The integrated active infrared anti-masking function helps protect the detector against deliberate obstruction. If the sensor is covered, blocked or otherwise interfered with, the anti-masking system can identify the obstruction and provide a trouble indication to the connected security system.
SMDA Environmental Analysis
OPTEX SMDA (Super Multi-Dimensional Analysis) technology helps the VXS analyse environmental conditions and distinguish genuine movement from potential sources of nuisance alarms, such as environmental changes and moving vegetation. Double conductive shielding also helps reduce interference from bright sunlight and radio-frequency interference.
Wireless Xwave2 Integration
The VXS SHIELD is available as an Xwave2 wireless detector, providing wireless integration with compatible security systems. This allows outdoor motion detection to be added with greater installation flexibility compared with a conventional wired detector.
